Our History

Maclean Partners began life as Ross Maclean & Associates in December 1985 from premises located at 284 Ross River Road, Aitkenvale. Two years later they moved into larger premises at 286 Ross River Road.

Ross Maclean invited John Kerrisk to join him in partnership in July 1990. In February 1992 the practice moved into premises purpose built by the practice at 250 Ross River Road where they still remain today.

In 2000, Paul Fyhn joined Ross and John in partnership and together they have enjoyed strong growth ever since.

In 2008, they purchased a small accountancy practice in Charters Towers and acquired their own premises on the Boundary and Mill Street corner from which they operate.

In 2020, Maclean Partners were excited to announce the appointment of two of our long term employees to join as new partners of the firm. Tina Bruin, the first ever female partner, is responsible for the management of the practice and focuses on business services, whilst Andrew Westcott joins as the Chief Advising Partner in the financial planning division.

In 2021, Ross Maclean officially stepped down as a partner, and currently still remains as a Senior Consultant in the business.

The financial planning division of the practice, Maclean Partners Financial Services, was commenced in 1996 in response to a recognised demand from accounting clients for financial planning services. It has grown since then to now provide advice to over 500 clients of the overall base of almost 5,000 clients and manage approximately $250m of client investments.

The practice now employs over 45 people in its Townsville and Charters Towers offices and has grown to be one of the five largest practices in the region.
